Car not working - VCDS not scanning

Hi all,

Many of the regulars might have seen the threads about the problems im having with my car. http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/a3-s3-sportback-8p-chassis/207118-audi-a3-sportback-problem-video.html

When i try and Auto scan i get "Function not supported by the gateway"

When i try selecting and individual module i get "No Response from Controller!"

Is this because the Instrument Cluster is not coming on. Because im leaning towards it being a problem with the CAN-Gateway.

Are you turning the key to pre-ignition stage before scanning ?

Its not a silly question because seen some posts before where people hadnt had it on haha but yea its on

The Ecu fault has likely progressed now causing more issues. Get it replaced.

Have you tried your VCDS / vagcom on another car yet?

Yea the cable works fine. Since i got rid of the problem with the instrument cluster it has worked fine.
