Clearing up coding for DIS

Hi all,

Finally got a good deal on a genuine Ross tech cable and have begun by doing a scan, few minor codes came up which were removed, but now where do I go to try and code in DIS? I have a factory fit MFSW and retro fitted cruise already but would like to know where you let the car know I've got the arm on the steering column. Car is a 56 plate A4 B7 avant.

any pointers or hints to a complete VCDS novice would be greatly appreciated.

I also heard you can programme remotes on it too? I that true? Would be great as one of my remotes stopped working after a few days then after the battery change it wouldn't sync.

to sync the remote just put it in ignition turn on not start
then press lock then unlock
take out and retry

  • 0 = Standard (without Multifunction)
  • 1 = 3-Spoke Steering Wheel (Sport Steering Wheel)
  • 2 = Multifunction Steering Wheel with Radio Control
  • 3 = Multifunction Steering Wheel with Radio/Telephone Control
  • 4 = Multifunction Steering Wheel with Radio/Telephone/Voice Control

so I take it the code i need to put in is 04042??

Guys,

My original code in 16 was 02022, which i changed to 02042. I cleared all the codes before hand and then clicked 'Go!', closed it down, waited a while then started the car up, the DIS still doesn't work. Any ideas? Do I have to log on? If so what is the code?

Sorted it, apparently had to code the instruments too.

Nice one Steve. VCDS is a powerful tool mate so be careful and always remember to note down old codes before you change them JUST in case.

im slowly getting the hang of it. I resynchronised my other remote yesterday too happy chap.
