Hi there,
I have purchased a VCDS cable from VAG Diagnostics (VAG Diagnostics Ltd - VCDS Vag-Com 908, 912, & 10.6 Cables) in order to switch my headlights into Tourist mode so that I can drive on the right when in France, but having problems trying to do this as when I select the control Module '55 Xenon Range', choose Adaption 10, then select the channel called 'Activate left/right hand drive switch-over' it only shows the stored value as 'Unknown' rather than inactive/active. The cable comes with v10.6.4 of VCDS but I cannot use any other version as it says if I do then it can damage the cable itself.
I did spot an old post in the A3/S3 forum (http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/a3-s3-...ve-switchover-2012-xenon-plus-headlights.html) and I think I may have the same set of headlight as the guy who opened this thread, as when I look in the log I took the Xenon controller number is the same. As a total newbie to all this I couldn't understand after reading that thread whether I was snookered or that there is a way to make the change to tourist mode, but not in the way you would normally do it (as I outlined in the paragraph above)
If anyone could give some advice to a total novice to all of this and let me know if I'm totally wasting my time with the cable and version of VCDS I have bought to use with my particular model of A3 I would be grateful.
