Ok - very new to VCDS having opted to buy it.

I recently retro fitted a MFSW & Cruise control to my 55 A4 DTM. Good news is that the MFSW works great. However the Cruise control doesnt. I have two issues, 1) steering angle setup and 2) I cannot login to section 11 under 03 ABS brakes. it is ghosted out and says coding. I may have done something wrong here, i'm not sure. Also once i do get in to this login the DTM brake code is not listed when creating the login code.

As a result i have the ESP light on the dash - and i am guessing no ABS.

Any help gratefully received. I have tried the process ofr re-calibraing the sensor - but with no success.

Well thats what you need to do, calibrate the sensor, what process are you following?

Turn steering wheel at least 30 ° left and back straight ahead.
Select [Meas. Blocks - 08]
Enter Group 005, [Go!]
Field 1 (Steering Angle Sensor -G85-)

Specification: 0.0 °
Tolerance (when straight): ±5.0 ° (Note - When the steering wheel is straight the value shown
should be -5 - +5 degrees, set it in between these values and leave it there for the rest of the
procedure)
Select [Done, Go Back]

this was taken from an online guide - have also followed the Ross Tech guide but when it says login 11 - 40168 my login says coding (ghosted out). and i cant go any further.

right - managed to reset the steering angle sensor and fault gone - missed the step where you have to start the engine!

however for the cruise control coding, i have coded the steering wheel - 16 (02041) and have coded the engine - 01. I had to use long coding on this as it had "coding II - 11" ghosted out. But when i go to code the ABS - 03 the "coding II - 11" is ghosted out so i cannot input 40168. Any ideas?

I addition for the step where you are meant to go into ABS - 03, function - 07 and enter the code i get 04X75 however the brakes on the DTM are listed as 1LC which isnt listed under the options for byte 3? any ideas?

thanks in advance

If I was you I would ping an email to support@ross-tech.com if you've registered your cable & advise of this query as it may help update the coding for later people stuck on the same issue.

Did you make any progress on this?

I have the same issue whilst trying to retrofit CC, I have coded the steering wheel and engine and calibrated the steering wheel sensor but cant get in to code the brakes because the Login - 11 box is greyed out under 03 - ABS Brakes.

Im going to email ross tech today to see if they can help.

All sorted

It was the clutch switch that had failed so the cruise control wouldnt work, nothing to do withmy coding!

Interestingly Ross-tech said there is no need to re-code the ABS module when doing a cruise retrofit, yet every guide I have seen on the net says that you do!

Never once had to recode anything in abs, only steering angle sensor calibrations, so by that I agree with RT completely.
