    VCDS Programming RNS-D TV Option

    Hi guys,

I recently got a multimedia adapter for my RNS-D but I have a feeling that I have to tell my head unit that to activate the TV option. Is there anyone who could help me work it out? I have all sorts of VAG and VCDS stuff and also got Autoboss V30. I just want don't want to play around with blocks and bits just in case I will break it all.

    I appreciate all help.

    Kind Regards,

    Jake

TBH mate would be best to update to an rns-e 1st, better screen.

    Is your vcds genuine?

    Hi,

I believe it is my father is a professional so I don't think he would be using cheap Chinese fakes. Although he is using all diagnosing equipment only towards fixing cars not really to carry out mods like this.

I know that RNS-E is better but I don't have a need for that and besides I would have to adopt it to the car which is probably more hustle than enabling TV in my RNS-D.

Adaptions to use an rns-e are minor & tbh much better unit than the rns-d mate trust me as I had an S4 B6 03 that had the D & it was tbh fairly rubbish in comparison to the E version.

I agree with all you are saying here. But it isn't cost effective for me to do that. The question is can I turn on the TV option in my RNS-D and how do I do it? :-) I will look into buying RNS-E just for sake of it.

Is it easy to pull a full log from VCDS? Was looking at FAQ on the forum but couldn't find it. 30 second lesson on how to full log with VCDS? :-)

On the main screen on VCDS press Auto Scan and select the ad from the drop down menu, save the log when completed and paste contents of the log into a reply box on this thread.

Thank you! Will drop the log hopefully today. I gotta say I love this forum I was browsing through the project room threads yesterday and there are some crazy genius people up in here! Like the guy who ripped a whole dashboard out and put it back! I wouldn't dare.
