Hi all,

I have a Mk3 SEAT Ibiza TDi with a central locking issue. The remote locking is not functional but the central locking is fine. No errors logged in vcds and the key battery is fine, also no Immobilizer issue

How can I used vcds to program the key to unlock the car remotely?

I dont know the seat tbh, but given it follows the same basic networking design on all vag cars, I would try going into convenience module 46 & measuring blocks & look for any remote signals from the key, if these arent detected, then one would assume 2 things, either the key remote is ******** or the car has a reception issue, I'm going with the key atm.

Here's the MK5, 8P & given years of the mk3 seat, page for remote coding:

VW Golf (1K) Comfort System - Ross-Tech Wiki

To check any signals, iirc its around measuring block 10/11 onwards for key function checks.

In my Mk4 Ibiza its done with the spare key in the ignition and switched on, and the key which is not working in the door lock on the drivers door, all the info to do mine is in the owners manual, if you dont have one give me a shout I'll get the info out of mine

Its an option for some cars yes, but I'm sure Finesse has full vcds.
