Clearing fault signal from my dash

Is this the right section to ask?
I have replaced my water temp sensor on my Audi, but can't clear the fault light on my dash,
Disconnected the battery for a while, that didn't work,
Is there anyone near me with the gadget required to clear the fault sign/light?
I live near Gatwick Airport off the M23,

Vehicle is an Audi A6 Quattro avant 2001 4.2 V8

Well its annoying me at the mo, as it beeps everytime I turn the car on, and is blocking my dash from the normal stuff,
When will you be back in the area?
