What benefits for getting vag.com ????

    Hi all

I am thinking of purchasing vag.com, but unsure what exactly I can do with it? I own a 1998 V6 avant tdi and will be fitting satnav to it and know that the process needs something from vagcom.

So please to all owners and users of vagcom PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME.

Also what is the best way of connecting it to your laptop, serial or USB? also where do you connect it on my car?

You are probably best looking through recent posts to find out what VAG-Com does, I didnt really know what is was for until I looked through the forums.

If you are fitting Nav+ yourself send a PM I will send you some links, there is a couple of sites which you will need if you are as its not exactly a straightforward job, and people who sell the parts that you will need.

You dont necessarily need to have VAG-Com to fit a nav+ unit, although some Nav+ units may need their settings changing via VAG-com but it shouldnt stop it from working.

    HTH Mike.
