Maybe A Stupid Question But I Have A Audi B7 2.0TDI - VAG COM

Hi i had a a4 b6 before and now have a a4 b7.

My old vagcom software and cable worked fine on the 409.1 and odb2 cable but this version of vagcom no longer works well not all channels/

could someone please advice if i need a new cable or different version off vagcom to read new cars

sorry if this question has been asked before i just cant find any info on here about what i need
