01314 - Engine control module problems - help?

Folks - have jumped over from the A3 8P forum, hope someone can shed some light on this VCDS scan.

The 1.9tdi Sportback is cutting out going over bumps - have checked physical connections etc. The scan my mate performed below reveals the repeated 01314 code regarding the engine control module - could this be causing the problem?

Check the ecu connector isnt loose as thats what it seems like.

I think that is a communication fault between different ECU and the engine ECU as you can see is the same as the above roreported by tates 1979.

You're using a fake counterfeit cable, this forum doesn't support the use of these.
 
Dear all,

My Audi A4 57 reg does not want to start most days. When it does, it cuts out and the check engine as well as the alternator lights come on. It starts after it is turned off.
I took it to Mr Tyre this morning who found code 01314 and said one of the relays was loose. He secured the relay and said if the problem persists to take it to a car electrical specialist.
I tried to start the car to drive it off and it wouldn't start. It did eventually and drove off.
Any help with this would be highly appreciated.
