k-line 1 short to ground & does not connect to check fault codes?????

Hello people was woundering if anyone has had this problem??

Its a audi s3 2002 bam engine code!!!

It is not the stereo system as its a factory fitted one and not a after market one!!!

but i have disconected it to eliminate it and had no joy!!!

I have tryed many other diagnostic tools and they dont connect also so its a fault with my car not the tool!!!

So when i vag-com it does not connect and when i do a port test it shows k-line 1 short to ground!!

What i have been told is disconnect each module till the fault goes away or rather it starts to connect but what i need to also no is what modules does the k-line 1 connect to and where are the modules in my car!!!!

All your help would be greatfull!!!

For this problem, you need a wiring diagram for the car. You can view these on the erwin.audi site by purchasing a one day access to the site. This is the official Audi site to be used by all in the aftermarket to repair Audi vehicles. From the wiring diagram, you can see all the modules connected to K1.

Also, it does not have to be a module causing this problem, it can be a chafed wire that is shorting to the grounded chassis.
