You might want to re-post this in the diesel section, I know a few guys have had their 110's remapped with good results, you might be able to get an idea of the performance gains from previous posts.
Theres quite a strong following for a company called AMD on this site but there based near oxford so it'll probably be a bit too far for you, I'm sure they'll be someone closer to home.

i had my a3 55 plate1.9tdi done by this lot http://www.celtictuning.co.uk/.
very happy with results - a good price and they come to you - based down south somewhere but travelled up to leeds to sort me out.
