I got stage 1 on my 1.8tfsi and it's a nice improvement holding higher rev ranges and acceleration. 2.0tfsi would be a pleasure to drive with a stage 1 ecu tune only I could imagine

Going for stage 2 by end of feb.

Check the revo website for stats table.

I've had mine running for a year now. No dramas. I'm from Australia and I usually get about 550-600kms on a full tank mainly suburban traffic. I drive stronic a lot of the times so don't use 7th gear often.

I'm taking her in for a service this Thursday also wear I got my revo tune done, so will find out if any issues but hopefully all gucci.

Mate runs stage 2 revo on his S3 and it's been good to him for about 2yrs and current.

You thinking stage 1 or 2 with hardware upgrades?

I find the linear map to have a slightly more 'OEM' feel to it in terms of the fact it's less boosty.

Both do largely the same job performance wise, it's the execution of how it delivers the boost (from what I'm led to believe) that delivers a slightly different experience on the road. In the height of summer when ambient temperatures increased I found the linear map to deliver more consistent results in a range of driving conditions. I appreciate when some pay for a remap they want a damn good push into their seat, I prefer a more normally aspirated feel to the map with consistent power right across the power band rather than it being front loaded.

It's worth checking if they still do both maps, I know they've been updating the product recently so may have chosen to consolidate to one map.

thanks very much thats really handy to know need to investigate it and see if its worth it, as dont know if id need to uprate the brakes and if it is a split pipe it may change the way it drives, what happened with ur mpg once mapped on linear?

Went up somewhere between 1-2mpg on average (caveat: once I'd got over the novelty of gunning it everywhere!).

I'm running stage 2 without brake upgrade other than front pads. I just changed to different pads as I wanted less dust really. I find on road use OEM just about gets you by unless you have particularly slow reactions.

On road: at stage 2 or above you really need to be thinking about a disc / pad upgrade combo, above stage 2+/3/4 full brake system upgrade (front & rear).

Track driving: If you do any track time above stg1 I'd do full brake upgrade and braided hoses.

Hey nope running standard brakes and no intention of changing them. Have a mate running 370 bhp on his s3 and his standard brakes are fine. It didnt really change to be honest fuel wise, but I do find myself using the extra power a lot more so it has probably got worse, although ive never actually worked it out. I get about 330 miles to a tank..

I was actually advised against this. Apparantly it makes the car feel "dead" after being used with the standard power delivery. Do you like it yeah?

As I have SPS I can tune the car the way I want it, but for me it made sense on two reasons:

    1: sustainability of performance
    2: smooth linear acceleration

I've had boosty cars over the years and I found that most of the available grunt was in the first 1/3 - 1/2 of the accelerator pedal, to me the remaining pedal didn't feel like it offered much. When I heard about the linear map I had it changed specifically; I do run quite aggressive settings (B8/T5/F6), but to be honest I'd never say it felt anything close to standard. I'm now running with full TBE and that makes an enormous difference, probably the biggest after the map. The DP and cats on the S3 are more restrictive than I gave credit for.

Ok thats really interesting. I actually bought the SPS last month. That was mostly so I could reupload the timings etc if I had to take my battery off. Can you add the linear throttle map using the SPS?? Just looking through my A, B and C settings here and yours is def' agressive as you say. All my fuel settings are for 9 also and I see yours are at 6.

No you can't, would have to go back to Revo / your dealer

I changed mine to 6 after CAI / exhaust system went on. Not sure how much difference it's made, but I ran it at 9 w/o TBE (Think I was running B7/T6/F9 pre-exhaust).

I changed to more aggressive settings as the car can handle them in the lower ambient air temps we're having at the moment (when it stops bloody raining). I'd dial Boost back to 6 or 7 when it warms up, and may advance tiing a notch.

Ah ok cool cool. Its good to talk to someone who also has an SPS.

Well ud be suprised. Some people like it already modified. Personally id rather buy a modified car which has been well looked after / serviced as a standard one without any service history.

That said its not too big of an issue to return the car to standard if needs be.

You can set the car to standard 'OEM' spec (albeit Revo map) with the SPS if the next owner decides they only want 261PS (Performance mode off)
