Anyone here had experience of a superchips conversion???

Just interested, as I've got an option to add 15bhp for £300, which sounds like a good deal to me!!?!

Any info appreciated /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

thas not bad, i gained 30 for 400, not a superchip though, keep an eye out for welsh dragon, he is running a superchip in his b5.

I have had mine done by a Superchip dealer in Carlisle. Very pleased. Took 40mins all up. Done through the dignostic port under the fuse panel. Slick, professional, clean and easy. Well worth doing. The car has now covered 30k miles with no worries and no clouds of unburnt fuel out the back which is what you get from a tuning box.

No probs recommending them at all.

ttandka,

I have had my A4 supperchipped and have had no problems running over the last year. Noticed great improvement on throttle responce and top end power. Even though it was only suppose to be 20bhp it did feel well worth the money. My fuel economy general stayed the same (actually slightly better) without changing driving style or journeys.

I have just swapped over my turbo (gone slightly bigger) and am above to have my software upgraded by superchip's in the near future. By the way mine is a generic chip and not a remap. The say that the remaps are generally better than the generic chip and also supperchips are not a specilist audi tunner so dont get the best results. However without comparing mine against a similar vehicle that was remaped I couldnt tell you.

So in summary I was happy with what I got for my money but you may want to look into other people who have had their car remaped and get their views also. I initially had mine supperchipped out of convenience because they were 5 miles from my home rather than driving the other end of the country. But if you are willing to make the journey you may get a 2-3 bhp more from the remap. The choice is yours, but to be honest I personnaly dont think supperchips are that far off the specialists tunners anyway for the initial software upgrade, but if your planning on loads of engine mods then a specilist tunner with a remap would be better.
