Sorry to hear of your miss fortunes between white van man , dirty jellous bast@rds and some bad luck
Am suprised u have had such bad luck with ure deallers but i suppose it happens, hope you manage to get some trouble free yaers of motoring out it (asumming you still have it?????)

I agree with ImolaS4: dents and scrapes are part of owning any car: I got dents on my 1969 escort and I get them on my 1999 A3. There isn't much you can do to avoid it other than try to park next to nice cars - those people take more care than the Toyota Picnic full of kids who will gaily swing doors open in a high wind.

People's cambelts break, also part of life. It's a real blow, but Audi helped you with the cost when you were out of warranty. If you'd had higher mileage they might not have.
The van is also a real blow - no-one needs that, and it's very frustrating while waiting for your car to come back from repairs. Hopefully it felt great when you did get it back though.

Finally, if you're looking for an Audi specialist in Guildford, try AHAutos on Slyfield. He's not a franchise but I'd recommend him for Audi/VW work.

It's the rivallry that exists between the UK and US. I work for a US based company and it's always there in the background, however it does not normally come to the surface. To see it openly exposed is amusing ... but also sad!

Glad to have been of service, my man!

ImolaS4, I loved the way you took our poor little TT owner to task over his tale of woe, but there were a couple of times with Trevor when I think you missed the point. He was as much taking the pi** out of us Brits as he was out of the US. Having said that, that line about "talking Bush" was one of the funniest I've read in years.

Please don't take offence, we love you over here /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif

Did Duncan really think that his bad experience would put off all existing & potential Audi owners?

I have never been happier with my Audi had it from new and now is almost four years old.

Its so good the misses wants it!

I think he has a point i've heard alot about german cars. Bmw's are always in the workshop. Thinks just drop off merc's and audi's need oil top ups. I have a TT and the cam chain and tensioner went cost £800 to fix. My car has only done 38000 you don't expect something like this to go with such low miles. So I think he has a point when it happens to you then you then you know how he feels.

I want to say thank you to all the people who read my website and spoke about it, whether you liked it or not (I was criticised heavily by a number of people). Anyway there is an update on the site:

http://www.auditt.org.uk

Maybe those of you who didn't get it previously do now!

Thanks again

Sorry, still don't. You bought a bad example of a good car, had some bad luck, bitched a lot & got a settlement outside the terms of the warranty.
