Colleague of mine is trying to convince me that Audi will release the TT with less powerful engines than the current 2.0 and 3.2

Anyone have any info? I can't think of any engines that they could use. Not sure if I was dreaming but I'm sure I read somewhere that they planned a diesel version.

Perhaps the might do the 1.4TSI and 2.0TDI both with 170bhp.

I'm a bit surprised that the 2.0 Turbo isn't a Quattro but I guess that chassis technology has moved on a bit since the original TT.

they will be launching a 2.0tdi 170 towards the end of nxt year along with the 2.0T quattro. they are also launching a STT and a 3.6 but not until 2008.

I will hope for a S version of the new TT, diesel might be there to please the masses...

Whilst a diesel many well fitted to the TT, it is not likely to be the current VAG 2.0TDI 170.

Audi/VW are developing new common rail diesels in conjunction with Mercedes Benz (Bluetec) and it will be one of these engines.
