1.8T misfire

I'ver got an A6 1.8T that has started to misfire above 5000rpm. I know the TT has had issues with coil packs failing. Can anyone tell me what to look out for or what happened when their coil packs failed

When my coil pack failed I got a bad missfire at 3500 and 4800rpm.

Did the engine warning light come on when the misfire started.

No it flickered on then off a couple of times on the drive to Jabba to get the new coilpacks. Not permanently on
