Hi People

Question can you correct a wheel offset by shaving the hub, by using a professional precision cutter?

Will it weaken the wheel?

I do know the correct amount for the car offset Audi with 19" are 5x112 ET 52 the ones I have are 33's a difference of about 17mm. The standard set sits to much in for me so looking at 10mm cut

Has anyone done this before and whats the feedback about it

Can you? Yes!

Have I done this? Yes! On 13-inch Lotus rims many years ago when desperate i.e., no funds to purchase new rims...

Would I recommend this? NO!

WHY? You really do need both a good machine and a good operator! You must also have the ability to locate/pick-up the wheel via the tyre seat and NOT the outside of the wheel rim (as you've no guarantee that the 2-faces are parallel to each other!).

But yes, you can do it...

Will it weaken the wheel? Depends how much material you remove and the relationship of the hub to: 1) the wheel spokes, and 2) the wheel rim..

It's an interestion one, no doubt :readit:

Not something I'd recommend if im honest. Spacers or the required offset fella. Be safe ;)
