hi i have an audi tt 225 quattro (2002) convertable ive been informed (from audi ) that they are not four wheel drive all the time only when you go in to a skid or on a slippy surface .as for the car its self i love it to bits best car ive had drives brilliantly and in the summer get the roof down and drive about with the wind in yer hair now the negitives if some thing goes wrong your talkin s my turbo went cost a packet to get it fixed, next a front head light went audi charge 134 for a bulb yes bulb but you can shop around and get cheeper but it was the ballest that went audi charge a fortune for it i can go on but i still love my car and woudnt have any thing else bud and finally do not buy from ARNOLD CLARK THEY JUST RIP YOU OFF

they are 4 wheel drive but the drive to the rear axle is fed thru an electrically controlled viscous clutch (haldex system). a percentage of drive is always fed to the rear wheels, say 10%. but if the front wheels slip under accelaration then the percentage increases.
its a very good system tbh. gives the best of both worlds tbh. you can also upgrade the haldex ecu, this gives more drive to the rear making the car less like a fwd car.

Ive got the 225 Quattro (2001) coupe. Basically the 4-wheel drive set up is only there when its needed. The car drives sweet and handles well but the pre facelift models tend to look a bit high on the suspension. but if you do buy a pre facelift model then lowering springs are cheap enough to get hold of and will have the car handling and looking great.
you can get good ones now for about the 6K mark and theres thousands out there, just make sure the cambelt and water pump have been changed.

Did you manage to get a TT?

I have an Audi TT 1.8T 225 bhp Quattro Nogaro blue 2002 plate 95,500 miles. I am looking to sell it or swap for an Audi A3 TDI sport. If you are interested pm me please. Timing belt, etc done already and next one not due for a wee while.
