what to look for when getting a tt 2001 to 2004

There are a lot of things to look for:
Fully functioning dashpod
Thermostat - Google 49c trick for info on how to do this
Cambelt/ Waterpump/ tensioner all done at correct interval (5 years or 60k)
Door microswitches working properly
Xenons working properly
All dash lights go off and OK comes up

If you do a Google search or have a look on the TT Forum you will find endless lists of posts on this subject

I recommend you look for a 225 rather than 180 and then get it remapped to about 260bhp - also go for facelift 2002/2003 as you get a lot of kit as standard = 20mm lower ride, 18" wheels, Xenons, aero wipers, titanium colour headlight inserts, nicer shaper rear view mirror and various other bits worth having
