I would like to add some pics of my car but am unable to do so.

I have read the FAQ but can't do what it says.

I go to reply to post & under the message box I don't have any options to attach photos?

In the little box in the bottom left hand corner of the screen under posting rules it says "You may not post attachments"

Hi,

Unfortunately that's a 'one size fits all FAQ' that's written into the forum software.

We don't allow posting attachments in the way described there (for disk space/management/security reasons), but you can still upload pictures here to include in your posts.

In the navbar at the top of the page, click community and then pick Pictures and Albums. Toward the bottom of that page you'll see controls to add your own album. Follow the instructions there to upload some photos (the system can resize images automatically to fit the maximum sizes allowed, but if the source files are quite large it might be worth doing this yourself before uploading - paint will do it if you haven't specialist image manipulation software (IrfanView is good and free, G.I.M.P. too (or of course Photoshop etc.)).

Once the photos have uploaded you can click each one and it'll give you BB code which you can copy & paste into your post(s) to show the image.

If you're still having troubles once you've tried this way, reply here and we'll go to plan B.

Regards,

Rob.

OK, I must be being really stupid! I have followed the steps above and I've created an album with a couple of pics that I resized. However, I don't seem able to insert these into posts... Can you help please?

What is BB code? All I get when I right click the pictures is the URL and when I use the Insert Image option and paste in the URL nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks Ming, I had already read that thread too. However, surely if I have managed to upload the photos into an album on Audi-Sport.net then I should be able to embed those into threads without the need to also create an account with Flickr or any of the other online photo hosting sites?

No you can't, because ASN doesn't allow you to use it's albums to host pictures for use on other sites with URL's.

this still not working for me....
I uploaded the pictures on flicker and when i click on "insert an image" and the add the url, it shows a X sign on the thread...

you have to have

You have to know which code to copy like me :rockwoot:

i tried all the codes i can find and still doesnt work...

It's not stupid as such, but images requires bandwidth and storage, and since this a free forum, I doubt they should provide both for it's 40K+ members. How difficult can it be to upload a few images onto photoshop, then use the supplied URLs to post the pictures up?
