Hello

I have been 'working' at home today and have looked in at the forum quite a number of times. Each time it has been quick and responsive - until this evening when the whole thing almost grinds to a halt although I'm using 600k broadband!

In there an explanation for this and is there anything that can be done to improve matters.

It could be down to contension on your broadband connection.

All the people are coming home from work/school and then logging on to the net. You share your bandwidth with these other people.

The other reason perhaps is that people visit this forum more in the evening than the day (perhaps they haven't got internet access in work)

You may be right with the second item, but as this is the only site that is slow at this time I don't think it's anything to do with my connection.

Could it be that that some backups are being take that affect the host server.

Perhaps those responsible for administering the site could throw some light on the problem.

The server has some moments at times when demand is high. Its a problem that we are looking into...
