After reading a few threads where people are questioning just what spec their car was when it left the factory - I thought I would share this site with you all.. It's always useful to check out if the S-Line you are about to buy really is a genuine S-line, or if it is just wearing a few bits from ebay!

In your owners manual on the first or last page you will see a sticker containing lots of numbers and letters. Punch them into the site below and you can see your cars true factory spec.. It makes interesting reading, but you do have to be accurate when entering the data.

Good luck!

I think the sticker can also be found under the spare wheel in the boot.

Err...What does VR0 = without impact prevention measures mean?? Surely ur car has brakes or is this some kind of parachute that is deployed after S4 warp speed!!! :nyah:

Very interesting tho i think the main one is to tell u what kW ur car is pushing out as im sure peeps out there are advertising 163 or 190hp cars and infact they might be 150hp. :asskicking:

Kinda hoping KW doesnt = BHP as it says mine is 253......:crying:

1 bhp = 0.7457KW

253kw = 339.27 BHP. nice.

James, interesting to read your code

8Z6 = Hot country

mine says

8Z5 = Not hot country

and yet AFAIK they are both UK supplied cars?

:laugh: i can only guess that in between our cars being made, the UK got reclassified as a hot country.

thats global warming for you...

i wonder what the difference between two equal spec cars would be if one is for a hot country, and the other for a not hot country?

I have looked in all the books that came with the car and have looked under the spare wheel in the boot but can't find any stickers. I would love to know what options it came with as it has different front and rear bumpers and has door blades, also the wheels are bigger than standard.
This was a pre registered car from Audi that was bought by a company so i cant see them splashing out much dosh on extras.

maybe call audi with the chassis number? i would think they should have record of the supplied options.

Found my sticker under spare wheel............

.......i wonder what the difference between two equal spec cars would be if one is for a hot country, and the other for a not hot country?

Hot country is a circuit which runs the radiator fan on after engine switch off.

Had my ECU changed some years ago (2003) after buying it 2nd hand with various oil level faults flashing up. But it was not to recently after purchasing a full VAG-COM (2007) that I was getting ECU errors in the DTC log relating to Hot Country circuits not responding. Basically the stealers had not coded my ECU correctly when installing with regard to Hot Country setting - Did a bit of research and set it correctly myself, i.e. mine is not Hot Country speced so does not have the required circuits - errors all gone!

This is what mine said...very interesting...
