Sound is ****** amazing.
The system was paid for by Audi as they didn't give me the Bose stereo when it was meant to come standard in all Australian S3's. :beerchug:

Here's some pics of my car... gutted.
Can't believe how clean the car looks, even without the interior panels...

dont you need your boot to carry stuff

Impressive install all the same

Bet it sounds a heap better than Bose (*not that Bose is bad*)
Aftermarket amps on the rear of the back seat are a pain for me, since kids came along though.

Nice. You are a brave man for allowing a shop to open up a new car just like that.

A few questions though, where did they get the source signal? From the headunit or did it require a line-converter?

Also, what is the smaller round patch of dynamat for?

as above, it was cut out and not thrown out...
i'm (unfortunately) using alpine speaker-->line converters... i got RNS-E and its too good to waste.
the front signal was used for the speakers and rear signal used for sub... so i got a "sub control" by means of my fader now (front back bias i can do from the amp anyway)
the shop had been recommended off an aus forum... the guy really knew what he was doing... made me feel good when i saw a Q7 in there when i went in to see him the first time. owner drives a jetta as well.
while i was there a Clarion show car dropped by that he'd installed into... that really gave me piece of mind (5 speakers in each door with lcd's, about 8 roof speakers, around 8 subs in the boot and amps seemingly whereever there was space)

That looks a nice tidy install and will out perform the bose system any day of the week !

OMG, they certainly stripped the interior out there didn't they! Very interesting post

Did it all go back together without any rattles and stuff?
That always used to worry me about aftermarket installs.
Never really had a problem, just nagging doubts.

That would be much better than bose anyway! The alpine type R range sound mint too.

A friend with a civic type R did this, in the end he used expanding foam to fix a rattle behind the dash

Pretty silly really

You did well there, the BOSE sound system is really poor, unless you like listening to a constant hiss regardless of if the Stereo is on or off

had me worried too but he was convincing enough before i purchased it... good thing he pulled through. no rattles, no problems... i watched every panel come off and later every panel get (miraculously) snapped back on.
think its about going to a reputable guy, i bothered to reasearch this this time round, unlike last time with my last car (a corolla) that was a... less than ideal finish.

Thats some install. Not got a system in my car at present but in my older cars, Corsa, Mini Cooper and BMW 1 I had them, love em.

What head unit are you running all of this from mate?
