Yep. Next time when the phone connects, be ready with your fingers on the volume knob of radio. If you have an RNS-E, you'll see the mute symbol appear just before the beep, as soon as you see it, turn the volume down. If not, as soon as you hear the first sounds of the beep, turn the volume on the radio down. I'm not sure if this is a permanent change or if the volume resets every time. Give it a try.
