Recently noticed that it is becoming very difficult to put into reverse or 1st gear.

The rest of the gears are fine to put in.

But sometimes it is difficult to take out of reverse and then put into 1st gear.

Could this be the gearbox going?

I have this at times too, though I dont know when the transmission oils where last changed so that might have an impact?

Clutch fluid flush/bleed first step, start with the simple option.

Gearbox Oil change next, although I've never found a "recommended" change interval for the manual 02Q gearbox, most must be getting on for 100-150k miles now, so a change can't hurt.

After that it's probably gearbox off to inspect clutch/flywheel, which to be honest you may as well replace while the box is off.

Lastly, if all other options have been exhausted, get the box looked at by a gearbox specialist and look at refurb.

feels abit sloppy. It feels like it is getting stuck after i change gear for 1 second then pops back up

From that I'd say a new clutch, sounds like the return springs on the clutch housing is just wearing out

As said start simple and change the clutch fluid, then move on to replacing the clutch and the slave cylinder while it's off

What mileage has it done?

Oil won't make any difference, it doesn't get dirty like engine oil and a lot of boxes don't have a drain plug.
Try bleeding first.....

I presume the gears are fine with the engine off?
