Hey all,

Got a q about my gearbox/clutch. Bare with me on this one...

So my clutch biting point is very low on the clutch peddle, and I find sometimes its hard to put the car into first/second gear, then after 1 or two attempts it goes in fine.

Secondly there's been a couple of occasions when I've had the car in first gear stopped at traffic lights but the clutch all the way down that the car slight rolls forward, almost like the clutch plate is being picked up a bit. This hasn't happened many times.

Is there any worry here? Should the clutch be so low down on its biting point?

Thanks,

Ben

Nope sounds dodgy, one of the things that disengage the clutch (slave cyl/bearing?) isn't working. Get it looked at.

Clutch hydraulics might need bleeding/seals.
Try pumping the pedal before you engage 1st or reverse.
If you hold the pedal to the floor, with or without the engine running, does the pedal lose it's resistance?
