Had to wait a bit for this as the company that made it are between moving premises.

But worth it

Thats 3.5 kgs

The old Duel Mass Flywheel thats been sat outside in the rain

Thats 10.5 kgs

I hope this will help my 2.1 as the TDI crank was 2 kg more than the S3 crank

oooo thats sexy mate, how much did you pay if you dont mind me asking mate?

my dual mass is on the way out and i dont intend on replacing it like for like, i know on n/a cars a lightened flywheel can help build the revs quicker, is this true on forced induction engines too?

Think ive just filled the cup haha.
Very nice mate, how much was it? What clutch ypu mating it to?

IT IS A NIIIIIIIIIIIIICE!!!!

£220 and it will be running standard clutch for now as tuffty seams to be doing well with his with 400bhp

I think I may have taken a couple of thousand miles off the other day though LOL... just don't do too many launches :racer:

I may have to get myself one of these... I'll be in touch :)

Its the same on turbo engines but you do get some people that don't rate them

Single mass flywheels tend make the gearbox chatter a bit on idle...

Thats nice, I'm an ex engineer so nice machining always does ot for me....GEEEEEEEEEEEEK

You can get a fluidamper crank pulley that claims to reduce chatter (plus gain hp & torque) for single mass flywheel conversions, but it ain't cheap.

I wouldn't be so quick... non std crank pulley was suspected in a cause for this...

[EDIT]

Ok, I was a little premature with this one (thanks for the reminder Bill mate:icon_thumright:)... this engine didn't have the fluid damper fitted but as Bill explains a bit further down it was a non dampened (if such a word exists) one.

No problem Tuffty

I have heard that they chatter but thats not going to bother me

I've got a 6kg single mass flywheel an V6 clutch on my A3, it's really not that bad, but it is noticeable on idle. I wouldn't let it worry you!

I think the 590 hp may have contributed a little too....

the Neuspeed power pulley (no damper at all! ) is what probably caused this..
never fit a non damped crank pulley - EVER

Fluid Damper is a high end silicone damper pulley which works better than OE, and ideally suited to higher revving 1.8t's which run big turbos.
my ibiza runs Fluid Damper and is smooth to 9000rpm - top bit of kit, but pricey

So andy, would you be able to supply more of these flywheels?

Thanks mate.

Cant afford one yet, but looking for when i do in june time.
