i have a 54 plate 3.2 quattro and the previous owner fitted RNS-E and 6 disc changer but the rear speakers, sat nav and radio dont work i took some pics wondering if you could shed any light on the issue

A couple of things I can see straight away. That brown/mustard coloured connector is the radio diversity signal, not the GPS antenna where you have inserted it. That really needs moving to the dual antenna connector at the bottom left of the RNS-E. right hand one is the diversity, left is the HF signal. The top right is GPS and you need a GPS antenna to plug into it.
Secondly your adaptor wire doesn't have the essential part to connect the rear amp to the RNS-E. That is why you have that 20 pin connector with nothing plugged into it.
