do you leave the disc in rns-e

Hi Just installed rns-e and it asked me to insert the disc, do you leave this in as if i remove it the maps dont seem to be installed on the unit?

If you do have to leave it in how do you play cd's?

    thanks in advance

Seems a stupid idea to me, so if you go on a long journey you have a choice of music or Sat Nav. Are all the Audi Sat Nav's like this?
Just bought a A3 Sportback and was hoping to add a Sat Nav and bluetooth combined but now maybe not, any other solution wise ICE men out there?

The RNS-E was usually specified with a seperate 6CD changer as a technology pack. But as memtioned there are 2x SD card slots which will carry a minimum of 20 albums each.

I'm a bit old fashioned, I don't have SD music, just don't like the sound, CD's are more involving to listen to.I find compressed music files very tiring it's what I call a 'Thin' sound.
So, a multi CD changer will work with all of the Sat Nav's?
One other Q, are the Sat nav systems equivalent sound quality as the existing Concert Audio system?

I would question anyones ability to tell the difference at 70mph between a CD and a quality rip to MP3, with cabin noise, road noise, wind noise, even in my old W12 with a whisper quiet cabin no one ever said is this an mp3 your playing.

Or install MMI and you can plug in your ipod. Personally if you can tell the difference between the sound on a CD to an SD card then your doing well. In this world of HD etc etc music played thro the RNSE is acceptable even if its on an SD card.

You are right I guess, not quite the same in a moving car. Don't have an Ipod either but I'll try the daughters in the other car and see what it sounds like compared to a CD.
