Hi all,

I've just bought a 2003 RS6 Avant and am really loving it! I've been an Alfa Romeo owner for almost 30 years, and while I still really enjoy my Alfa 166 V6, I wanted something with some serious power and the RS6 does not disappoint. What surprised me even more is how 'right' it feels, not boring and clinical like most Mercedes I've driven!

So, if I may ask a few questions of the experts here. Firstly, I'm pretty sure the mirrors do not fold electrically, no matter what the manual shows. The switch will not turn to the position shown, and the mirrors do not feel like they have motors on them. Am I correct in thinking that not all RS6s have electrically folding mirrors?

The second issue is with the Sat Nav. It thinks I'm somewhere in the sea at the moment! I removed and cleaned the CD and this made no difference understandably. I'm guessing this could be quite an expensive investigation unless anyone here has any tips? It would be nice to have it working, but if not, I'll stick to the Navigon on my iPhone 4 which works very nicely.

Lastly, any recommendations for specialists in London, and sources for cheap spares?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Chris,

It was an optional extra to have electrically folding mirrors on a C5 RS6.
The issue you have with your SatNav is most likely to be to roof Antenna that is a fault.

May I suggest you have a look at RS246.com :: The World's #1 Audi R, S and RS Enthusiast Website you'll find all the info your need about C5 RS6's there.
Check out the Site Sponsors list, look for Virdee Autos in Park Royal.

CheeRS,

Thank you very much for your reply Rob. I hope it is just a matter of the roof aerial to get the Sat Nav working. Glad to know I'm not going crazy regarding the non folding mirrors!

Best wishes

Chris

Thanks also for telling me about Virdee. I'm in Chiswick so not far from Park Royal. Very convenient!
