Hi I have a brake conversion to the B7 front disk's, had these on for about 10,000 miles and small cracks have started to show around the holes!

Which disks do you reccomend I replace them with?

Andy

Didnt you return them cause surely thats a warranty issue no Andy, I know you've uprated just a little bit on power :)whistle2:) but still its an RS4 setup so should be able to take it, really should, I had some huge Tarox 10 pots on my S3 8L & did do some serious braking at times & never had an issue

The dealer may try to get out of any warrenty obligation, as the discs are not fitted to a B7 RS4.

I am sure you may see a way around this.....

Have a chat to AP Racing.

www.apracing.com

AP already make kits for the RS4,and as I've said in another thread, these things don't crack or fade, and they are more than good enough for any road use, gievn that they're mostly aimed towards the race market.

No disrespect to NHN,but TarOx don't come close to these things.....I've used them on one of my previous cars(an ex GpN Escort Cosworth with anti lag, water injection, and 2.5 bar boost).....fade was never an issue, nor was wear, but like all competition type brakes, they do need to be warm.

I'd still take them back to the dealer and ask for a refund, how will they know what car they have been fitted to if you take them back in your hand?

Get em in there and at least try.

If you mean dont come close to RS4 brakes then all I'd say is at least mine didnt crack, warp etc etc, not one issue, they were on the car for a long time, only thing I did to them was skim professionally so flat discs again no ridge, but they took some hammering, so take it from that whats better really, as for the apracing systems then I couldnt compare given havnt used, seen or heard of them with any issues, so I'll take your word for it fella & no disrespect felt so no worries, eveyone's got an opinion & I'm happy to hear it anytime

But seriously take them back Andy, regardless of car, they're not exactly on an F1 car are they

I didnt mean that nastily either as though you're cars a skoda, far from it given mines a TDI currently(roll on the S3), lol, I know you drive it hard but what I'm getting at is they cant start the usual ****** of wasnt out on the right car etc, if you said it was on an s3 they would naturally given the dimwittedness of some of the stealers(some) think lesser car so it shouldnt even come cose to that kinda wear, but even so if they're RS4 parts they would be subject to just as much pain so they shouldnt crack whatsoever, I mean really I've not heard of RS4 brakes cracking, its a case of plead ignorance & just be a ballbreaker simplessssssssssssssss(meercat.com)

I fecking would for what they cost, lol

Dealers may wish to inspect them on the car for any claim. They will have to allocate the claim to a vin number, I guess this would help if it was an B7 RS4? Also depends how well you know your dealer service/parts guys.

One of my B5 RS4 customers has come up against this.

I also think there is a limited warrenty on discs and pads. I think 6 months ? sure some one will ring to check.
