    Thumbs up B7 RS4 - Average MPG ...

Apologies if this has been asked before but has anyone any 'real' average MPG figures for the B7 RS4 under various conditions?

Same here - 18mpg on the back roads, 20mpg on my commute to work (mixture of Motorway, A & B roads and lots of queues) and 25mpg on the motorways.

Average over 7000+ miles, about 22mpg.

    Thanks for responding.

Boring old fart and tight side of Brain says: "Hang on, can you really afford that? ..."

    mmm...!

Let's be analytical (or anal for short):

My current average (and that is the real measure) since new (Aug 2003 A4 3.0 QS) has been 27-28mpg on Optimax/vPower.

So I am guessing at a change of about 6mpg less (with the B7 RS4 ... that's about a 20% increase in fuel costs on average ... that's about 15 per week (hang on get the calculator!) ... that's 700-800 per year.

I've had it the car for weeks and ive avereaged 12.4mpg for about 700 miles. For what this car costs and for what it does, just enjoy it and keep fillin' the tank

Well, mine's crept up from around 14mpg to 20mpg average (@approx 1400 miles) and seems to be gettin better by the day. Incidently the mileage to next service is doing similar (moved from about 11000 to 14000 in the same timescale) ... guess it's runnin in nicely :-)

Keep them Shell Points comin, i'll have enough air miles to go to the Moon by this time next year ;-)

How many miles do you get from a full tank of fuel on a motorway journey and on the commute?

about 300 odd i think.. Did I mention I got 28 mpg once average over 70 miles so it can be done!..
My old 911 wasnt too bad on fuel but it was a 3.0 sc with Kjet and my Boxster was actually quite good (2.7 tho)..
This is actually better than my old S4 though which is interesting

Well so far I have clocked 20 mpg average since new, as apposed to 27 mpg average with my old 3.0 A4 QS. My daily journey is achieved at 23-25 mpg as apposed to 25-27 mpg with my old 3.0 A4 QS, which I am quite pleased about. I guess the differences are down to how I drive the car outside my daily journeys.

I have had 31mpg on a staid 65 mile run on the motorway with no traffic and not being or wanting to be in a particular hurry ...

    Smile

MPG what's that? I just enjoy driving THE CAR it purrs like a kitten and growles like a lion when us USE it. No matter where you are it always brings the knowing nod and smile of approval from knowledgeable people. Some even being upfornt enough to say "is that my new car?" Stelath pack on it is just magic. Oh by the way 1st 700 miles motorway/town/queues/and occasional very occcasional POWER MOMENTS and 24.3 MPG. All done with a smile of pure contentment!!

Its about the same. The RS4 has a 60 ltr fuel tank when empty, so its 55 ish to fill it up when the light comes on.

    Chris.

The golf looks like a diesel in comparison. I was lucky to get 330 miles out of a tankful in the S3, and I'm getting about 220-250 out of the RS4. Its getting 17.4mpg just now with a mix of town driving and country roads.

I used to get between 260-290 from the S3 and the Golf is 310-330.

Well I'm still averaging just over 20mpg + abit, since new.

An average increase of approx 0.4/0.5 mpg since new (April 2007). Why I don't know!.

    Maybe running in ...
Maybe gettin used to driving it better.
Maybe stopping being mental every morning driving to work at manic speeds at 06:00ish on clear Motorway....

    Luv it.
