Re B5 RS4

Hi, I have for some time been thinking of buying a B5 RS4, I would like to hear from past and present owners in regard to problems that are common.
My thoughts are, these cars now approaching 12yrs a sensible purchase or a bottomless pitt , I would not be using it for commuting but short trips after work and weekends . I love the B7 but running costs are just to high for me.

my current car is an 2007 A4 avant 3.0ltr tdi manual which I know is no comparison but would I regret changing .

Hi gary,

You would not regret changing.

What you must remember the b5 rs4 was a £50-60k car when new, it may not be new now but it still comes with the running costs of a car of that value.

There are common problems such as the camshaft wear issue, leaking rocker gaskets, maf's. egt's, lambda's, etc drop me a line and i can have a chat with you about the good and bad of the b5 rs4. The good being 650bhp link mine the bad having shot egt's like mine lol
