B5 RS4 oil advice please

What is the best oil to use in my B5 RS4 please?
Its got 5-30 longlife oil in at the moment but keeps leaking oil
from the drivers side rocker cover. Its already had a new
rocker cover gasket and also had some instant gasket aswell
but still leaking. I wondered if theres a better oil to combat this
problem and is a common fault?

you can use the thickest oil you want
but you will still have the leak
you need to sort the gasket etc out 1st

Im going to sort the leak out with a new rockercover gasket
but was just wondering if anyone has come across this
problem before and what oil was found to be the best
for this engine as ive spoke to a main dealer and they
said 10-40 would be fine to use????

DONT USE 10W40

Its a semi-synthetic oil and will break your engine.

The 5w30 Audi specify is far to thin for these engines.

I'd be running a 5w40 or 0w40, in a good synthetic brand. Silkolene Pro-S if you want to splash out, or Audis Quantum Platinum if you dont.

Get the car off AVS as well, or you'll be replacing the camshafts as well!

Mine's running over 500bhp(S4 with RS4 conversion) I spoke with Dialynx a few days ago who did the conversion a few year ago and they recko'd using Castrol Edge 10w 60
