    Revo fuel settings S3

    Hi

I`am wondering about the fuel settings on the stage 1,2 remap, I have been on the net looking around at what everyone else has there fuel settings set at and they all seem to be set at 9, to my understanding is lean! mine has been set at 2 which I assume is rich? the theory behind this being the richer setting should keep things cool and less chance of detonation.

I have my car booked in for a stage 2 remap next week and was just wondering if there is a lot to be gained by changing this fuel setting?

    Just curious!!!

    Cheers

With the 2.0tfsi the scale is 0-9, 0 being the richest and 9 being leanest; not rich and lean though!
The setting will alter the requested lambda, the version of software has an effect on by how much. The overall scale isn't much different but on older versions stage 1 and 2 we advise fuel 9 as with the stock hpfp or racefuel there isn't the headroom to run richer. On the latest software I'd run between 7 and 9. Running more fuel gives a bit more headroom for more timing. Asking for too much will mean its not delivered and therefore load will be pulled out and you'll not see the desired boost levels. In this case running fuel 2 is way too much, I would put it on fuel 9 and rest check basics like knock correction to set timing. As with any car it's best to monitor the effects of changes, you can use Vcds to do that. A basic data logging guide can be found on our site under the Sps page. I hope that helps, if you want to chat in more depth give me a shout in the office tomorrow! Best regards, Revo Kev

Just to add, you are completely right that in theory more fuel equals cooler cylinder temps equals less chance of excess knock, pre-det. You have to have the fuel system and quality though and more doesn't mean as much as possible!
