Some twats have scratched my frickin shop windows overnight! Why do people do it?

In 30 years of trading here with top down glass as my shop front and no metal shutters, there has only been one case where the glass was bricked, due to a drunk who was kicked out of the shop. With the scratches on the glass, it's looks as bad as Graffiti, and make the shop look tacky, well annoyed!

Never needed it mate, but I think it's time I installed CCTV for peace of mind, the area I'm based in has dropped a few notches in the last few years, there's ASBO orders outside the shop which give the local plod to remove groups of kids 4 or more, and under age drinkers.

As badluck usually comes in three's, I had the problem with the Tree outside the back still waiting for the guy to cut down, had a leaking roof, the whole ceiling dropped down over the weekend during the heavy rain, and now the scratched glass.... expensive month!

Get some CCTV set up and catch the B*****rds thst did it.

Install high-frequency speakers - they do work, if the trouble you're getting is from the sub-25 group, could only just hear it myself....

Fast Food - Chinese to be exact!

Think I should consider getting some metal shutters, all the shops to the left of me have shutters, but from my shop and onwards to the right, no one has shutters lol, how very odd.

Not sure how all this works, but I would assume it would reduce insurance premiums too?

It makes me so angry to hear things like this. I would never dream of deliberately damaging someones property so why should these tossers feel that they need to...my assumption is it was teenagers/Chavs etc so my question is what are their parents doing? Supporting their hard done to babies?

Go with the high frequency speaker as Igdos suggests. Biologically under 25s have more sensitive hearing particularly high frequencies.

I doubt it very much, I have this policy with an insurance company that the shop has been with 25 years+ with no claims. Took it to a specialist for a quote to see if they could beat it, and he told me NEVER to change insurance company's. He told me there is special cover in the policy that no one would supply in today's market, and espicially not at the premium I'm paying!

Put in metal shutters and hook it up to the mains. That'll teach them! Add the CCTV for your viewing pleasure.

New ceiling/roof, Tree is being cut down on friday, and been quoted £100 for a complete new window by a regular customer, total damage to my wallet is just under £1k. Could have been worse I guess, CCTV ordered also... need to consider about metal shutters, there's nothing to steal inside the shop apart from uncooked food lol
