Thumbs down Supermarket "have a go" hero on ASN

Was in my friend car going to my nans for sunday dinner...Couldnt wait was starvin Noticed the traffic was building up and people were getting out of there car. Could hear people shouting got close saw tesco security guard and a customer trying to pin this guy in a white top up against a wall. But another two men were stopping them... So i thought he must of stolen some thing.
I saw the prick in the white top trying to bite the security guard in the face and could see they need some help. There were a group of 3 young men looked like rugby lads built like **** house's just standing there

So i decided well no one going to help every one was too busy recording it or just watching. As i got closer saw the guy in the white top headbutted the tesco customer and bit him on his arm to which blood dripped down the guy had blood around his mouth. Rushed over grabbed the guy by his right arm and just twisted his **** up and pu it into a lock and pushed the guy face against this metal shutter. As i thought he not landing that melon head on me or spitting on me To which he said 'please dont hit me bruv'. Security guard asked who i was and said thanks.
The guy in the white top friends were getting close so i told them to move back away from me.
Told the guy you can either calm down and come in the shop or i'll put you to the floor. He agreed to go in the shopping and said i know i've done some thing stupid and im sorry. Kept saying he was really sorry, Said dont say sorry to me say sorry to the innocent staff member and other customer you attacked.

As we got closer to the shop i could tell he was thinking about having another go at getting away. His body language gave it away so tighted my grip, so did the security guard and customer. Got him into a room where he deicded to tell me 'Your ****ing rude you are'. Didnt answer the dumb answer just looked at him. Asked the guard and customer what happend he tried to steal a sandwich but once confronted by another tesco customer acted quite aggressive and hit him in the face qutie a few times. Before trying to bit him i nthe face and dig his eyes out!! his two friends were also hitting the security guard and the customer trying to get them off him. The guy got bit twice really nasty ones aswell all bruised around it and flesh missing! Said 'He was thinking about letting him go once he bit him, and didnt think they could hold him for any longer as the other two were getting involved'.

Felt really bad for the guy because i saw him take a few good punch's to the face. Duty manager from store came in teh room and said if you just came back in once we asked you to we wouldnt of called the police and just banned him from the store. By this time the police had turned up and before saying any thing stuck in him hand cluff's and told him to face the wall. Explained what happend and you could see the police officer was shocked all that over a sandwich.

Anyway left them with my information and went but i was really pissed off wantd to batter the sh*t out of the guy who does he think he is doing this and then telling me im wrong for getting involved and im rude. Couldnt
belive how many people were just standing around and not helping there were some big men there and they just stood there watching two innocent people taking a beating.
Security guard said its his third time trying to steal from the store.I just couldnt believe what i was seeing the guy was acting like a wild animal.
What do you think will happen to him now?

Probably bugger all, though he deserves a small prison sentence or maybe lots of community work.

Good work Ash! so few local heros around! I'm not sure what the police would do, but if they press charges he may go down for gbh. (imho)

Well done Ashley. I think people are scared to get involved now a days due to the blame culture. It was a very brave thing you did, lets hope he actually gets more than a caution or something.

I think people are scared to get involved because they are scared of getting hurt!
    And I can understand that.

Good effort getting as involved as you did. Not many would to that extent (as you saw), and I probably wouldn't blame them tbh.

I see you're from cardiff?? I know what i've seen on TV but never been there myself.... what's it like there people/troublewise?
Here in east london it just wouldn't be worthwhile getting that involved, not unless you are prepared to put yourself at about a 99% risk of having a bit of damage done to yourself to protect people you don't know.

Think the only way I'd risk myself in that sort of situation is if the person being attacked was at an obvious disadvantage, i.e old, a woman, blind!! And even then... if the other person turned out to be too much of a nutta I'd have to back away I think. Cos I'd be risking my daughter having something naughty done to her dad, and I ain't risking that. Also, I don't fancy getting smashed to bits for a stranger. I'm selfish like that lol.
I'd probably move on to the vocal defending approach instead.... "LEAVE 'EM ALONE!!!"

A few years ago it was a bit different. Got a bit of an adrenaline rush getting involved in situations that weren't mine, but came too close to the painful side of being a "hero", and thought it ain't really worth it.

But again, good effort by you and I hope someone does the same for me if I ever need it, even though I probably wouldn't do it for them anymore!

As long as the customer is happy to pursue a complaint over the bite, and it happened where there is cctv I am sure the fella will get more than a caution. To do something like that I would think it's safe to say it's not the first time he will have been arrested, so should have some previours to take into account.

    Well done for getting involved.

It's a shame a lot of people just stand there and do absolutely bugger all.

Saw on TV once a security guard got stabbed in the supermarket with a screwdriver or something. The items the guy was gonna nick off with totaled about 10 quid, kinda worries me that some people are willing to almost kill someone to do something like that!

Nice one, as you said far too many people will happily stand by.

To be fair though if there's some nbutjob biting and lamping people not many will be prepared to get involved for fear of getting snotted.

Fair play for twisting him up and not just decking him though, showed good restraint

Give yourself a pat on the back. I was rolling about on the floor with a 7 foot nigerian bloke a couple of months ago, proper one on one and people just stood about and watched until a bus driver stopped his bus and gave me a hand. I owe the guy a beer as I was about to get chinned big style!.

Ouch! Nice one for helping out though.

I was in my local Asda one Saturday night last year and 2 lads (one being around my age, 19, and the other quite a bit older, both very well built) came over and squared up to me for no reason. I said "look, guys, I'm here to get some food not fight so go away" and they started punching me. One held me while the other hit me in the face, I must've took at least 15 direct (but drunken) blows to the face/head and others to my chest but I managed to stay up and give a little back. Anyway, no one helped out at all in Asda, all the checkout staff (understandably) ran out of the way, even the security dude didn't get involved, but that's another story. My girlfriend was the only person who did anything at all and she got punched in the mouth. The two that attacked me were then allowed to leave the store while I was took off to an office....only to find out no one had even called the police or an ambulance so I ended up calling them myself. The most I got was a free bottle of coke from the manager - cheers love! (that ended up against the wall, may I add)

    A few things:

I found out the pair had been in the store for 5-10 minutes, security (or lack of) was watching them and they'd already tried it on with another guy who was with his family (who was much bigger than both of them) so they thought they'd start on someone smaller

There is no CCTV around the Kiosk or self checkout areas of Asda in Crewe, that's a bit ****ty huh? Infact, I had a 'tour' of the security camera locations and they're absolutely pathetic. Mainly on stock which frequently gets stolen or is of value and none whatsoever on the checkouts. Shows how much Asda values their customers/staff.

There was one security guy in on a Saturday night and he was too busy cashing up with the manager. Nice, thanks again Asda.

My dad arrived about 10 mins later along with several police cars (they did their best tbh) and 2 ambulances. I took a lift with my dad to the hospital and along the way saw some drama unfolding between police and several people, when driving past I immediately noticed the 2 lads who attacked me. We got out and made it clear it was them to the police who arrested them. Funny thing was, the police didn't even know, they were only asking them what they were doing out at that time of night as they looked suspicious. I think it's quite safe to say if I got a lift in the ambulance then they wouldn't have been arrested.

Fortunately, apart from some very minor brusing, a little aching in the morning and a cut ear (and damaged ear ring) I was alright. Still, not good turning up to your new job like that. I got 150 compensation. The older guy got a suspended sentance or something whereas the younger lad got some youth offender BS. Come to think of it, he was supposed to write a letter of apology 8 months ago but I never got that.... oh well. They'll get what they deserve one day.

I wrote to Asda complaining about their security in the hope of a decent apology, perhaps improvements to their CCTV or staffing, got back a load of BS from some women who couldn't even spell the name of the store properly ("Crew" not "Crewe"), made several spelling mistakes and didn't give a ****. F*ck you Asda.

Many years ago I worked at the local Asda, the security manager there was called Hoggie, he was getting on a bit but was a big bloke none the less. He was an ex-para and pretty sound guy and didnt take ****e off anyone, after he retired the next security guy was called Aiden and he was an ex-copper, again quite a tall formidable chap. At the time the security managers job wasnt that well paid as it was aimed at semi-retired ex-forces or ex-police that were probably already drawing their pension. These days though I think its outsourced to rent-a-pleb G4S or SERCOck hence their comparable use to a chocolate fireguard...

Yeah i think your right there Mark. The innocent customer never hit him back and his reason was 'i dont want to get in trouble for it'. Felt bad on him as he was being a attacked and all he did was try and hold the guy and try and protect his face.

    Hi James

Yeah the guy 100% going forward with complaint regarding the bite. Well at first it started just in store, and then a bit further down the road but im pretty sure cctv outside may of caught it. But a few people came forward and my friend also willing to make a statement if police do need it.
    Thanks for that James

I would agree with you about people being scared of getting hurt and its understandable. Thanks for that mate. Yeah born and bred here
Cardiff hmm got alot worse over the years. People have changed the way they think and react! I dont go clubbing any more as to be honest i cant be bothered fighting, getting in trouble and my right knuckles are already a mess Lol. To be honest i didnt think some thing would happen to me, just thought about helping these two guys out. The guy seemed pretty **** scared once i grabbed him anyway.

In most situation like that in Cardiff, you have to think of what area your in as some people may react different as some random person getting invovled, and then it turns on you. If people know you or heard of you and know you wont take any **** you do seem to be fine. But you will get the odd one that will still try it! Around the corner where i live a young mum was stabbed to death in front of her kid by her bf as he caught her cheating on him. I didnt know the mum but i knew the boy as he was my age and his high school wasnt far from mine. He was a nice lad and quiet if im being honest. Kept himself to himself. Never really expected him to do any thing like that.
These days you cant just fight and then forget it, you have to make sure you battered the person and broke his confidence. So he wont try again... As most people will come back with a weapon or go to your house with a few of his boys.
The quote used down here is 'Dont get caught slipping!' or 'Slipping' When some one gets robbed, beaten up or stabbed or some thing along those lines people say its because they got caught slipping and showed a weakness!

I know where your coming from regarding you only risk yourself if there was obvious disadvantage, i.e old, a woman, blind!! Lol its not selfish mate your thinking about yourself and your daughter, you dont want to go home all cut up and bruised. What you gonna say to the wife/girl friend and your daughter. They be upset to see you like this... Yeah i could hear people when i was walking up saying to stop it and leave them alone.

I've had a run in with one nutta back last year. I mean the guy must of lost his mind he shot out of a roundabout and then blocked the exit i was going that way to so i beeped to say move. The guy started being racist and qutie agressive and got out of his Audi to which i had to defend myself as he was swinging punchs. I must of dropped him about 5 times in a row and he kept getting up! Lol...A young woman was also kicking off on him as he was being racist to me and he called her a stupid f*****g c*** and s**t. And threated to kill her to which i hit him once again but alot harder this time and he did stay down for a bit this time. And im not a small lad about 5'9 or 5'10 and 16stone and i use to box when i was younger. And use to train alot up to a year ago....But i did decide it be best if i backed off. As 1. I was late for work. 2. My knuckles were bleeding quite badly. 3. I knew it wouldnt end.
In the end a few other blokes got out of there car and wrestled the guy to the floor to which the young woman partner turned up and well lets say i hope he never hit that guy lol. He was built like a ****ing sh*t house and looked pretty pissed off!
Thanks again mate, and i do hope some one would do the same for me if i was in trouble. Lol this made me laugh ' hope someone does the same for me if I ever need it, even though I probably wouldn't do it for them anymore! '

Thanks Tom ...Most people are happily to stand by and just watch.
Yeah i suppose i can see why people didnt want to get involved but im pretty sure if 2 people got involved other would of and could of just held him down on the floor till the police came. They should of taken him to the floor in the first place would of stopped him from hitting them and biting. Thanks lol i wanted to deck him so bad but its not worth getting in trouble about it and the situation could of changed. And i could of end up with all 3 of them on top of me! I was late getting to my nans aswell! She wasnt happy but i did have a good excuse...But the food was lovely i was a good granson and took her table and chairs a part for her. Lol she treating herself to a new dinning table and chairs bless

7 foot nigerian bloke think i might of walked away lol But well done for not giving up. Cant believe people were just watching you and this guy wrestle around and no one stepped in. Couple of people could of at least jumped on him lmao! Was you in work at the time or member of the public?
Good to hear there still some people out there thats willing to help like that bus driver who helped you out. 'I owe the guy a beer as I was about to get chinned big style!.' At least that brighted up the bus driver day a bit and he wont forget that beer Tom!

Thanks...Scott sorry to hear about that! And that does take the piss you would of thought the security guard would of got involved! And i cant believe they never called for the police or any thing! Glad they got caught mind. And you were not hurt too much. Sounds like that Asda is pretty ****....That is a real shocking story what happend to you! And they gave you free coke! Thanks for nothing like! Got to give it to the security guards at my local tesco they do there job well. And i feel sorry for them at times as little *******s abuse them and dont leave them alone. And they jsut take it or ask them to leave the store.

My best friend got attacked few months back in Mcdonalds in our town centre. Some other boys around my age were giving the security guy at mcdonalds a hard time. So my friend said come on boys he only doing his job to which they turned on him. He end up in hospital with a broken ankle where they stamped on it and cuts and bruise's. He was knocked out cold and woken up by one of my friends and his friends and a police officer, while he was still on the floor outside mcdonalds. He ankle was just snapped! He didnt go back to work for 5months! He only went back now as he said he couldnt take it being home every day.
Was in hospital for a good few weeks aswell. I wasnt in town at that time. Wish i was mind, got to go court this thursday regarding it. The boy and his friends will be there and i cant really see it being that calm for long if im being honest. If my friend ask me too i will knock one of the little ****ers out i will. And i'll teach them all a lesson. On cctv there was about 6 of them filling him in as he lay on the floor. And few more fighting with the two other boys with my friend. My friend is harmless and gets on with most people. He a laugh...Felt bad to see him in hospital bed, as he wasnt him self for a long while. The boy who done it aswell was bragging about it! Wait till i get my hands on them lol

Ah yes, forgot about this sort of thing. This is where I draw the line! Risky or not, we are going to toe to toe!!!

Not so bad now, doesn't happen to your face so often here in london. But going back a few years I'd be surprised if during an argument I wasn't called something racist.

I've got ZERO tolerance for that sort of thing, and that is the one situation where I would deffo get involved if someone was on the receiving end of it.
Guess it's just down to some of what I experienced growing up.
e.g. sign in shop window "person needed for paper round ".... i go into shop and ask for the job, guy looks at me and says "sorry, job has been taken".... i come out of shop, see a school mate who was white, ask him to go in the same shop and ask if job is available, he comes out 2 minutes later saying the guy offered him the job!!!

Anyway, back on topic.... maybe if enough people respond as you did then the idiots starting the trouble will think twice before acting this way, cos worrying about passers-by getting involved might stop them.

Dont blame you mate, i have zero tolerance. I can remember i was only about 9 in greece and 3 english lads were walking past. And they just stopped and started shouting things at me and called me a little monkey, told me to get back to my own country and little brown ******* lol as im only mixed race. I didnt understand it at that time as i was so young but i was quite upset and did tell my dad straight away.
To which he did beat the **** out of all three of them and they did get arrested by the greek police. As other people said they started all the trouble and my dad just reacted in protectiong me.
Got it a few times in rugby but was always a laugh when one of my team mates would come out of no where and take them out. There was one game between my college and a Swansea college which end early as all we did was fight. Yeah its not that bad here, people tend to keep it to them selfs. Got it quite a bit in primary school but only once in high school by the 'new kid' lol. I was quick to teach him a lesson. The cheeky pr*ck people like that are not doing any one any good. There just a waste of time! Sorry to hear about that not nice when that happens to a young kid and he knows the reason why.

They probably would think twice before doing it but most of the people doing it now know if they just intimidate people and kick off a bit most people wont say or do any thing! Lol all i did was flip it around on him

Ashley, hat off to you mate, well done on getting involved, as already mentioned alot of people nowadays wont get involved, just for the reason that there are alot of psychos about, who just dont value a life and are and have killed for the littlest of things.

Living in Brum, you hear about this sort of thing all the time, which is not good, as Scott said as well, getting into a fight whilst going shopping, what is that about??

Had the same situation a while ago in Asda, middle aged woman, went off her trolley (excuse the pun) at me for getting in her way while shopping, I stayed calm initially, just out of having respect for elders and not wanting to get involved in it, after all i was just out to do a weekly shop, then i just thought wtf!!! and had to walk off....not before wheeling her trolley half way down the aisle!!! LOL

When someone is mouthing off at you I always find that taking your outstretched index finger and touching their eye ball usually shuts them up.
Give it a go next time.

You'll probably have a summons through the post in a few weeks when the little thieving ****er's court appointed money-grabbing, ambulance-chasing solicitor decides he can get a few quid from you for even daring to touch the criminal, who we all know has more rights than an innocent person thanks to the 'criminals charter', oops, sorry, I mean human rights legislation.

Thanks Blazin 'you should of just run up absolutely panned him and ran off ' LMAO that just made me laugh soo much. Be soo funny seeing some one just run over deck him and run off! You do have a point regarding some people wont stop doing things in till they get a beaten. A dealer didnt take advise of a young man saying dont want to see you around here hanging on the corner. Dealer kept coming up till the guy lost it and i mean beat the SH*T out of him! I couldnt stop laughing not come back since! lol . Ohh i'll hopefully bump into his two friends at some stage as they live off that road and i am around there alot due to nan not living far away. Seeing they did start of my friend who soft as **** and only about 5'5. Thanks again blazin

Funny thing is, I work in Birmingham and my girlfriend is from and lives there and I haven't really had much hassle at all and believe me I visit some very dodgy areas and get some funny looks lol. Then I'm in my home town, minding my own business and this happens (it's not really heard of so much around here, still not a great place but people generally keep themselves to themselves) - how ironic really...
