Thread: Pistonheads Classifieds

Is it me, or is Pistonheads started to become a minefield, a victim of it's own success you could say?

Anyways, what's the point of paying £16 for a premium advert? I thought I paid it for my ad to be on top of the pile, on the first page for more exposure, though for the smarter lot who knows how to use the filter function, I guess it doesn't make a difference. Basically, my ad was on the first page at the top for like 1 hour before some IT dude who works for Stratstone decided he needed to bump his commercial vehicles up, so now I'm at the bottom of page 5!

Quite annoyed about that!!

Thats a bit rubbish,i have never paid to advertise premium althouhg last time i used it they upgraded me for free!

Just have to be ready for loads of random emails with people offering you a swap with something you dont want!

Lol, please, I'm trying to sell the thing!! Priced cheap for a quick sale, it's not a bad car, just a bit under powered, but surprisingly well specc'd for a hatchback!

Pistonheads is the place I sell car parts most successfully but I do get many emails offering me ridiculously low amounts of money which I have to decline. I'm a pretty good seller on there, shame there's no feedback as I tend to personally drop off the parts to local buyers to add to the experience lol.

Yup, I've had the offers also, I guess you can't blame the person trying it on, but it is ridiculous, plus I find it rude to just get an offer by text/email, when my phone number is within the ad.

Whats worse is the people who phone me up to ask questions of where I am and whats the score with the MOT & Roadtax!?!?! It's all there written in black an white in the frikin ad, learn to read before you call me FFS!

I think people generally now are just plain thick which is all the more frustrating for the educated among us.

I think so too..... I'm really thinking of updating my ad to include every frikin standard feature the car has, do people really buy into the 'car has PAS, 3x3 seatbelts, airbags, alloy wheels, bonnet, doors, tyres, brakes, seats, steeringwheel, rev counter....' etc. the list is endless.....
When was the last time you saw a modern BMW(or any modern premium car) with no Power Steering? Yet most ads have this as part of the spec sheet.

Don't for the seat belts, seats, head rests and the important steering wheel.

Any no, I never do. List things thats standard.

I bought my car through pistonheads and it was stolen...

Well the garage had sold it to 2 people and I got it. So technically it's mine but still.

Never again. The hassle i've had with them is unreal.
