I currently have one of the new A3s (1.4TFSI SE model), and find the ride quality to be quite poor. Every slightest imperfection in the road surface can be felt, and the ride is constantly restless, jolty and jarring. And this is supposed to be Audi's 'comfort' suspension. Perhaps as another consequence of the hard suspension, the tyre noise is terrible, on almost any surface.
What is the Q3 (SE trim) like for ride and tyre noise ?
I will most probably be changing my A3 in the Spring, and the Q3 is an option (probably 1.4TFSI/150PS).
