Thread: Solar Orange S3

Hello,

my name is Tim, I am from norwich, work for Audi and have very recently purchased an 8P S3.

Before hand I drove a Leon Cupra R, which I loved to bits... It was very fast and handled fairly well, but getting the power down was an issue. Which is why I chose the S3.

Here are a couple of Pics of my S3.

Hi, welcome to the forum. Solar Orange seems to be getting more popular (surely a good thing, looks great in the metal, I just wasn't brave enough).

You should be pleasantly surprised; there's an amazing wealth and depth of knowledge and experience floating about on here. Seems there is at least one proper expert for just about any area you might be interested in knowing about, and everyone is more than happy to help out. You'll also get quite a healthy amount of first hand recommendations and reviews on just about any tuning part you might be after. Just be warned: you will end up wanting to spend WAY more than you can afford to after just a few days talking to the guys on here!

I'd recommend you head over to the Sticky section of the board, and spend a bit of time working through the FAQs, pics and the "Rimz" threads.

What was the Leon putting on the road?

Looks beautiful m8, would have gone Solar S3 myself if I could of found one with the right spec, enjoy

It was stage 2 mapped at Jabbasport with just a panel filter and recirc valve and ran 272bhp..

then added de-cat, milltek non res, TIP, bypassed n249, etc but didn't RR again after the map.

Car is currently in body shop having front and rear bumpers, bonnet wings and side o/s side skirt painted so its perfect and also having all grey plastics done gloss black (front lip, grilles and read diffuser).

Will try to put up pics of progress so far but tapatalk no longer allows photo uploads...

Best spacers and size, thought maybe 8 or 10mm all round?

And 20mm lowering springs? H&R best?

And now the b pillars are gloss black, although a ***** to fit and put some tiny dents in one side... may have to get that re-done

Lowering springs should be with me today, Have also fitted H&R spacers, MY11 Rear lights and Forge BOV in the mean time.

Car badly needs a detail, so will take some more pictures as soon as I can.

Well springs arrived today so I fitted them. As you can see also MY11 Rears and Gloss black B pillars, treated it to a quick wash, Love it!

This months update is buying car tax! Lol nothing exciting just yet.
