Mate of mine got this tidy 50k mile XR2 the other year and although being tidy was a bit rough round the edges.

The 13" Pepperpots were a bit tired so we bolted on the standard set of Fiesta RS Turbo rims that I had recently taken off.

We then purchased a mates 2litre converted XR2i track car as he'd grown bored and needed the space.

The engine and brakes were removed and added to our parts pile and the rest of the car broken up for parts.

We opted not to EFi it but to go for bike carbs instead. These arrived soon after from Bog Bros

The 2 litre 16v motor was then given a freshen up and dropped in to its new home

The Cosworth brake conversion was then fitted up behind the freshly refurbed Escort GTi 15" rims, tight fit they were as well.

Car is on the road and even running a Ford ECS module to control the ignition was enough to upset a Rover 220 Turbo owner. It's now on Meg Jolt for the ignition and has been setup at Torque of The Devil

It's now a rather nippy sod and once we've swapped the gearbox out for an LSD equipped Escort RS Turbo BC box it should be really quite usable.

Comments welcome

Classic car, I bet it's a right hoot :racer:

OMG at the brake clearance!
