i don't believe he couldn't get the stick into neutral, you don't even have to push the button on an auto. and turning off the ignition doesn't engage the steering lock, the key could still be in the aux position. the steering lock only engages when the key is removed. this was the case even on my 1980 cortina mk5 that i had. i can't believe this guy did not know that. cretin.
