The new Golf Bluemotion has an Audi equivalent called the A3 Ultra. It is available on the German website I believe - just not in the UK yet. IIRC it will only be available in manual as autos are slightly heavier and less fuel efficient. Also it will have a 1.6TDI 110bhp engine capable of a combined 88 mpg. It will be slightly lowered and only be available with 16 inch alloys for low roll resistance tyres.

Ultra is just the word they are using for the lightweight construction and aluminium in a lot of places, it isn't a specific model.

So it's basically EfficientDynamics/BlueMotion/EcoMotive.

To say I'm disappointed, is an understatement! what a waste of a cool model name. :(

Audi A3 ultra – versatile marvel of fuel economy

In September 2013, the Company introduced the Audi A3 1.6 TDI ultra, the brand’s most fuel-efficient production model: The 81 kW (110 hp) Audi A3 1.6 TDI ultra consumes on average only 3.2 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers. This equates to an astounding 85 grams of CO2 emissions per kilometer.

Low consumption – this forms the basis for the basic technological architecture of ultra models. Thanks to the systematic lightweight construction of the multimaterial body and all systems, the A3 1.6 TDI ultra has a total weight of just 1,205 kilograms. This latest A3 version is not only the most efficient Audi; it is also the brand’s first model to have the supplement “ultra” in its name.

In coming months, the Company will unveil ultra versions in the Audi A4 and Audi A6 model lines, which will feature TDI and TFSI engines. Like the Audi A3 1.6 TDI ultra, these too will stand out for their low fuel consumption and reduced CO2 emissions – which will not only reduce operating costs but also benefit the environment. Along with the e-tron plug-in hybrids and g-tron models that run on natural gas, ultra vehicles constitute a third category in Audi’s portfolio of cars offering sustainable mobility fully suited to everyday use.
