Hi All,
I'm new to this forum although have been reading posts since ordering my Daytona 3dr s line 1.4 cod. I switched from a mk5 GTi DSG to the A3 and am loving the new car. Had it two months now.
Went with:
S Line Daytona Grey
Comfort Pack
B&O
Privacy glass
Interior light package
My general view is the car is excellent but S line is a must (for me at least) and Daytona looks great particularly in 3 dr guise with privacy glass finishing it off great. B&O is awesome and worth the money for me even though a leased company car so I'll never get any benefit back. Ordering again I would like a lot of the tech I didn't opt for but there comes a point where you have to draw the line.
Engine is great balance between performance and economy (well more balanced towards economy) but faster than I expected and although I occasionally miss the smooth consistent power delivery of the gti dsg, the economy benefits outweigh the cost here. Not a diesel fan so this was a great option. Definitely wouldn't opt for s tronic on anything less than the 1.8t though, the manual is smooth and quick changing.
Interior is spot on and I prefer it to friends a5 black edition. Way ahead of the golf, BMW and a class.
Also I ordered in April and delivered end November so probably the longest wait I've seen, but worth it!
Less engaging than my GTi to drive but class above in all other respects. I do find a lack of traction on the front wheels at times which I guess is a result of less weight on front wheels!
