Kinda thought this was going to happen Google to compete with Apple over smart dashboards - Telegraph as Audi is already using google products...
I think someone at Apple had their wicked way with cemerson's and cuke2u's partners.
It's almost as irrational as the hatred of private plates.........
Ah but we know that apple sell products that nobody really need and if you open up an iphone you will find the same samsung componants that are in samsung phones. Don't make me laugh at the os of apple products being 'higher rent' than any other open source coding...

Apple and Audi really are made for each other!
Sorry couldn't resist this one. The slight different between the Apple and Samsung and Audi and SEAT is the main components is that with Apple, the main components are made by Samsung. But with SEAT the mains components are designed by VW - the platform, the engines are built by Audi and the gearboxes built by VW.

Saw that article this morning; interesting how totally opposing people's opinions and POVs can be. I'll choose to quote somebody else's words to one of the comments from this news story:
Android in Audi vehicles? What a major misstep and failure to understand their own customers. Android is the low-rent OS that mostly appears on crappy, cheap hardware. iOS appears only only the finest hardware. Clearly Audi products have more in common with Apple, and I am willing to bet their customers share very similar taste and economic advantages. Android belongs in Kia and Hyundai.
I like to think I have an informed opinion
Yeah that could only come from an apple forum which is amusing. I think the rest of the tech world thinks the HTC One is in a different league to the iPhone as it won phone of the year and overall gadget of the year this year. Google takes aim at Apple's 'iOS in the Car' with Audi-Android partnership
The advert with the nissan juke and google maps was rather fancy showing its now a new must have feature.
Wow, that is very handy instead of having to search again for it in the car. I remember not too long ago the google maps app on my old iPhone wasnt linked to the navigation app on the same phone so you would have to refind an address on the navigation app to go anywhere even though you had the address sussed out on the maps app. Very annoying but google seem to have sorted that now and linked them.I can send Google map locations to my A3 from my PC already with Connect... It is quite useful

Yes, I was going to make a joke about it but decided it was too obvious in the end
Took me a few hours to spot it but you are right its interesting the way your brain makes sense of stuff even if incorrect.Surprising what the brain sees even when it's not quite correct. I never noticed until someone said about it.

On a more pedantic note, anyone else spot the issue with the title of this thread?
iOS, Android or Windows, you'll all need new phones by the time it's released and it won't matter which you prefer! they'll all work with the new standard for in-car media.
Except iOS, as you'll notice Apple are missing from the list of collaborators, as they usually are when 'cooperating with others' is involved!
