Will a Independant tyre specialist have wheel alignment settings for the new a3 yet as it's new ? Anyone know of any well known ones ?

How long will you go on about this steering, alignment, steering wheel position before you decide their is nothing wrong with your car.
If you still have issues contact Audi customer care and get this sorted out. For me I clearly think you haven't got a clue about cars and the way they operate.

Oh but I have .. I've worked in the motor trade for 16 years for your information .. And I work in a multifranchised garage .. This is my 3 rd Audi and I have never experienced this before .. The car is shared and we both notice the problem .. I have took the car to Audi And they can see a problem but say settings are fine ! I won't pay 28k for a car and not do anything About it .. I'm using this forum for help and advise and quite frankly your comments are rude and patronising .. Please don't reply if u haven't got nothing decent to say

I would have thought the big places such as Qwikfit would have the settings but they would tend to use a hunter machine anyway. I wonder if your best bet is to ring a few local 4 wheel alignment places around you. Near us we have one in Leicester and in Nottingham who are very good.
Failing that, the settings will no doubt be on the Audi computer system that has all of the repair instructions and procedures. I've not seen a copy of this for the 8v yet but a bit of searching might turn something up?
for what it's worth I can totally understand your OCD (no offence intended) with this issue. I'm a right stickler for everything with my car being just right and I too have years of experience of fixing, driving and building cars so can just tell when it isn't how it I should be. You get a feeling don't you.
i have a similar issue with our mk5 golf gti. I think it is taking longer than it should to warm up. It does get up to 90c but it takes 20 mins! Can't be right, so fitting a new thermostat later today. Most people would have just accepted it as the norm but It just doesn't feel right.
I'm not an expert, but I would take it to a specialist 4 wheel alignment place that can also check caster angle. A lot of places will only check toe in/out and some will also check camber, but steering and wheel alignment is a 3 dimensional thing and a slight discrepancy in any one parameter can cause issues.
Someone knowledgeable with wheel alignment can also tune out issues which are present dynamically, but not when measured statically (wheel alignment, by its nature is static, but at 70mph on a motorway, the steering is definitely dynamic!).

I agree, Again, I am not an expert (only just a novice) but makes sense that because the speed effects the steering, it sounds more like the increased force of the wheels spinning faster / traction on the road, if not balanced / perfectly set up, is the more likely cause.
surly if it was the steering wheel / rack, it would happen at low speeds to ?
I know you have new tyres, probably far to earlier to tell, but have you checked to see if the ware on the tyres is even / the same on each as that might indicate a difference. I must have hit a pot hole in my last car and although I didn't notice it knock a wheel out a bit and wore through the inside edge of the tyre quite quickly where it was out.

In your words your dealer said there is a problem but settings are fine but car is still under warranty so suggest you take up again with the dealer or direct with audi UK.
not sure why you want details on s specialist wheel alignment centre when you have been in the motor trade for 16 years plus a location would be handy as no point recommending somewhere in Scotland if you are in the South West, that said I would still be getting my dealer under the warranty to investigate further.

If you had 16 years experience in the motor trade I would not be asking these questions regarding you steering issue.
If you follow the Ackerman principle of steering you may find your answer.
Failing that I would be leaving the car with the dealer until the corrections have been made and pointed out as before in previous post to contact Audi customer care.

Been to a specialist today and NSF was completely out .. Been adjusted and car is now perfect .. Took bill to Audi and are reimbursing me on Monday for tracking I had to pay for and fuel ... Did Audi ever check my steering .. Prob not ! Thanks guys for your comments who were actually helpful ! And as said before being rude and patronising for the others shouldn't be allowed on this forum . Enough said .

Excellent news, glad you got it all sorted. Makes you wonder how a brand new car with quAlity control processes etc can be delivered like that!

Glad you got it sorted, but still strange ONLY the NSF out in tracking!!! Tracking is both wheels.
Was your car out in turns only the NSF was out?

As mentioned above your tracking is repaired which I am glad to hear, but can you check your car is correct by making sure your car is in the straight ahead position and steering wheel centred, turn the car to full lock in one direction and count the turns and make sure it does the same amount in the opposite direction. If the difference is great you may have to get the steering rack centred to prevent "pulling" that will be the final test in your steering issue.As mentioned again I am glad your issue has been resolved.

Hey guys I’ve got an 2013 Audi A3 2.0 TDi 8V I’ve replaced the steering rack and the driver side suspension leg now the steering light & traction control light is on Ive tried clearing the codes via snap on but won’t seem to clear any idea what to do?
