Personally I cannot see why anyone would want to turn off the Hill Hold Assist.
I have Hold Assist turned off because I prefer the way the s-tronic behaves without it, but all Hill Hold Assist does is stops you rolling back when you release the parking brake.
Another thing I noticed recently - If you have the parking brake applied it will release automatically when you go forward but it does not release if you reverse. When I reverse out of my garage I have to release it using the switch.
