Audi Connect SIM Size

Anyone with Audi Connect who can tell me the size of the SIM card needed to go in the car? Full size, micro, or nano?

It's a standard mini-sim. Full size is very old school, same size as a credit card! Mini sim is the one you are calling 'full size' I think.

Also do we know if using the Connect's Wifi hotspot is classed as tethering?

Yup... It's tethering! Whether the operator finds out or not is another issue altogether

It's the one labelled 'standard SIM' on that page. The iPhone 4 takes a micro SIM, not mini.

What most people call a 'standard sim' is actually a mini sim. Back when mobile phones first came out it was a whole credit-card sized SIM that you put in the phone.
