    Question Carwow - any experience?

I plugged my desired spec into Carwow.co.uk and started getting offers from various dealers with up to £2.5K discount (7%). This all sounds great but I haven't yet followed through and contacted each dealer.
Anyone actually done this and is it on the level or is too good to be true? If nothing else I want to use these quotes as leverage with my local dealer.

I used wow car with the intent of using as leverage for getting a discount for more local dealers. Best discount through wow car i got was 180 miles away and about 6.5 %, down to less than 0.5% 90 miles away.
I wanted to stick with local dealer as is only just over 5 mins drive from my house, and heard good things about them and they where the most helpfully and least pushy when first looking.
I ended up just talking to them, never mention wow car and got just over 5% and a good / realistic trade in price, which I was happy with may be could have got 1% more poss, but wont have made that much difference .
Unless you live in near London or another city with lots of Audi dealers competing and is a realistic option to buy without loss of customer service, I think your local dealer will know this is just a ploy to get discount, and you may get them off side, I think this is a last resort if you are not getting anywhere.
I have been in sales for 17 years and I know the people that get the good prices and service are the most informed and patient (be prepared to walk away, even if you are in a rush) also if the salesman likes you, without seeing you as a pushover, they are far more likely to be on your side to get the best deal for you, why would they stick there neck out with there manager for extra discount for an arrogant / pushy customer who is shopping around with multiple company's as they have a much smaller chance of getting the order so why waste they time if they are busy.
I got one other quote from a dealer 20 miles away and said to match / better it and they did.
Customer service is important to me as I work hard and don't have a lot of spare time to run around to non local dealers if I get a problem, so for me price wasn't everything.
That said some get 7+ % especially on high spec / dearer car so it is possible, depending where you live !

i think most people on here will know all of the above or have there own diffrent views, but I hope this helps someone.

I've specked up on carwow, with a gtd and the a3 2.0 184 TDIQ, neither beating dtd, but carwow are only £300 short on dtd, and a dealer is within 33 miles, so sounds good.

Following on from carwow, I specked up the gtd about a month ago, and one of the dealers has sent a list of pre-reg golfs, including a couple of gti's but no gtd's.

The Audi dealer who is 33 miles also emailed if he can help any further?

So is quite a good site, but you need an extra email address for each car or spec at the moment.

I used Broker quotes to lever options out of my Local Dealer till we were both satisfied and shook hands on it.
B4C had sourced me a dealer down midlands who would give 7% off MRRP for a specced up SE 1.6TDI SB.
Me not being the best haggler I had googl'd car negotiating tactics an hour before going in which helped my confidence. I printed off all correspondence headed into local dealer and advised no skin of my nose who I go with.
I mentioned to them and subtracted broker fee and delivery up the country before they got chance to use that against me.

Other Brokers had quoted me cheaper, which I demonstrated to the dealer. However I also mentioned that I had little confidence they could deliver and their correspondence was poor. This emphasised I was serious about B4C

I came out happy with a SB Sport 1.6Tdi and more options.

I used carwow last week and got some excellent discount prices on new A3s from several dealers within 100m. Wanted to make sure I was properly informed about discounts before going into my local dealer. Really good service, would recommend.

Just to add - the only annoying thing is that their range of manufacturers is not complete (e.g. no BMW) and that you can only spec up 1 car with your account.

Do you mean 5% not 15% discount quoted above ?
iknow you went for a different final spec but...

£25585.00 OTR for £24282.00 as link above is about 5% off ?

sorry to be picky or if I have misunderstood, as thread was about discounts / wow car throught i would check as 15% would be best discount I have seen by miles.

The 15% referred to the original SE MOTR, but that was whittled down by delivery and fees. Then changed again when upgraded to Sport.

wow 15% discount must be getting close to cost price on an se, then they make the money on the high delivery and fees, biggest discount I have seen is around 7% on a3 and bit more on s3 but is more money so therefor more profit.

I'm currently using Carwow to look for an A3 Saloon and plan to buy once I finalise spec. Closest dealer isn't that close, 60 miles away, but the discounts are far better than my local dealer will give. I like the fact that I know exactly who the dealer I am dealing with is, which brokers I've tried don't do. Two of the dealers were much cheaper than the other three and I messaged both asking a question about delivery time, both got back quickly to my surprise and had the same lead time as each other.

To be honest I can't really be bothered with the painful process of seeing if my local dealer will match the price, I'd rather give my business to a dealer who's already been helpful and has given their best price without any petty games. The dealer may be a while away but they offer delivery for free, though it'll be a decent afternoon to collect it from their showroom.

I thought the same, but i'd thought i would give my local dealer one last chance to discount, after asking twice before with a firm No, this is a new model blah blah, i went back and said cards on the table, i'm looking at a discount of £2400 for this car which i have got from a local dealer, i'm not going to disclose this dealer as i will be going there this afternoon, what can you do, they came back with a good deal of £2000 + some freebies + the car was in stock with them with the options that where fine. So was happy with the result.

What kind of discount did you get on the Saloon?
